Dr Shelley Osborn

Dr. Osborn has been working with adults, couples and groups in brief but primarily long-term psychotherapy using psychodynamic orientation since 2005 when she started training. Since beginning her private practice in 2009 her specialization is focused on supporting clients aged roughly 18 to 32 as they navigate the transition to adulthood, completing their university education and starting their first career. As a Coach to students she provides support to improve their self-esteem, create healthier relationships, manage any diagnosis they have such as anxiety, depression, etc. and understand their personality and attachment styles.

In addition to a masters and doctorate of psychology in clinical psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, she holds bachelors of science in both business administration with an emphasis in marketing and psychology from California State University at Sacramento, and a film degree certificate from the Vancouver Film School where she directed a documentary on violinist Andrew Dawes.

Dr. Osborn is currently working on a long-term research/writing project informed from her over 19,000 clients hours looking at the human brain from birth to puberty, how different types of brains affect each other in parent and child, empathy and personality.  The following working titles are:  1) The Psychology and Neuroscience of Emotional and Cognitive Empathy; 2) Coming of Age: Importance of Psychological Individuation; 3)  Four Types of Brains: Our Human Personality Styles on Spectrums with Layers; and 4) Planet Earth, Its Species, Stewards and Universal Consciousness.
