Cornelius (CJ) Harris
Therapist
Cornelius (CJ) Harris, LMFT had earned his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2021, entering the field during the high point of the health pandemic, when the world had just started to discover the many benefits of telehealth. Telehealth allows CJ to work with you from the comfort and privacy of your home, via a HIPAA-secure platform. Day and evening appointments available.
CJ’s diverse background includes colorful life experiences along with some work with the homeless, foster, teenage & elderly population; which helped shape how he provides a multi-layered approach and holds space for differing perspectives. CJ identifies as a Solution-Focused Therapist, who also has some experience with trauma-focused treatment, therapeutic mindfulness, as well as effective grounding techniques.
CJ’s motivation for this work has everything to do with identifying ineffective, unproductive, and/or harmful patterns that individuals, couples, or families struggle with. He will work collaboratively with you to create new, more effective and healthy patterns through healing. While CJ’s desire is to fulfill this goal authentically with anyone who seeks therapy, he does have a passion for healing within the BIPOC community. It is important to him to serve his community and engage those who are less likely to receive mental health care, have suffered from underrepresentation within this field, as well as a disproportionately high burden of disability resulting from mental disorders.
